It just doesn't make any sense to me and ucodegen is probably right in regards to the sticky legal matters that would come with this transaction. By the way, Zillow reports this property for sale at $950k instead of $899k on Redfin. Either way, this asking price is unreal. Most people would sue to prevent such land encroachment, as well as protect against ownership by adverse possession. I suspect both lots are owned by the same person and normally he would have to realign the lot boundary before selling.. or risk being sued 2 ways by the next buyer (misrepresentation of condition of sale <i>as seller</i> and be forced to remove the encroachment).
