Very rarely do I see the guy in dire need to buy a house and the girl saying, "no honey - we should wait a bit." That's a generalization and generalizations are dangerous, but I still say women have a stronger urge to nest than men do. Some men have the need to prove their bread-winning ability by acquiring a piece of real estate. I know a couple who delayed their wedding 2x simply because they couldn't bear listing a rented apartment as their newlywed home address on the invites and wedding program. Crazy. I guess "nesting instinct" nails it. I know of at least 3 couples who are currently looking or have purchased in the past 6 months due to the nesting instinct effect. I only wished they understood the true difference between a house and a home.
