People are either can not face the reality or just plain greedy. I just checked remax.com and found out there are many rental listings that are/were listed as for sale. These owners are asking as ridiculous rent as the asking price. One example is

http://premierproperties1.california.remax.com/listings/ListingDetail_r4.aspx?LID=41759623&#aTop

I'm actually living in the same complex. My current rent is $1,895 which includes HOA and all water bills. This condo was up for sale more than 6 months ago and the asking price was 558k something. After it was up for sale for almost half year, one day I passed by the property and saw a "SOLD" sign. Few days later, the sign has removed and up for sale again. One month later, the "for sale" sign has been removed but the property still vacant for a while until now it's up for "rent".

And don't be fool by the 3/3 description on the listing. It's only 2 bedrooms plus an area like a bedroom without closet and it's just 1.5 size big as a full bathroom. And don't be fooled by the realtor's "3" baths here. It's only 1 full bath in master, one 3/4 bath plus 1/2 bath/power room. For a 2/2.5 plus a den condo with one common wall, the rental price $2,300 is ridiculous to me. What do you think?

If The April Foreclosure Report did not convince you that the RE bubble bursting is just in its 1st/2nd inning because the main street and stock market seem to be saying the sub-prime problem is nearly over. Then, you need to watch this Alt-A report:

SavedbyGrace:

This is another well analyzed profile. For bloggers who have any doubt of this property going back down to $500ks, you need to watch this report:
